Pine Knot's trailhead doubles as the Aspen Glen Picnic Area, and it shows: a real day-use lot with 20β30 spaces, vault toilet, picnic tables, BBQ grills, and a community fire ring under the Jeffrey pines at about 7,000 feet. An Adventure Pass goes on the dash β this one is a proper fee site.
The good news is the demand curve: this lot rarely fills before 9am, even on summer weekends, making it the reliable choice when Castle Rock's lot has already burned you. The payoff at the top β Grand View Point's panorama of the San Bernardino high country β is in the full Pine Knot Trail guide on our sister site.
