Bright Angel Trailhead Parking (Grand Canyon South Rim)
Use Lot D as your default, not the small trailhead lot. Bright Angel is a very busy South Rim trailhead with limited private-vehicle parking. The Backcountry Information Center's Lot D is the best fallback and a short walk away; the free Village Route also drops near the trailhead. Check the trail's current water and closure notices before starting a canyon descent.

The NPS identifies the Backcountry Information Center parking lot, called Lot D, as the best place to park for Bright Angel when the village is congested. From there it is a 5–10 minute walk along the sidewalk past Maswik Lodge, or you can use the free Village Route shuttle.
Do not count on a space by the trailhead
The Bright Angel area is a very busy parking location with limited private-vehicle space. A car that arrives after the lot has filled does not gain a legal space by waiting on the road. Park at Lot D, keep bus lanes clear and let the shuttle do the short connection.
The trail status can change below the rim
Parking is only the first decision. Before heading down, check the NPS signs and current corridor-trail notices for water, heat and closure information. The South Kaibab Trailhead uses a different shuttle plan and has no private parking at the trailhead.
